Support for anyone caring for a loved one:

"I wanted to know if someone would sit with him while he tried to sleep. If they'd tickle him sometimes so he didn't forget how to laugh. I wanted to know if he'd have 24-hour access to a freezer full of ice-cream."

Did you know that all Carers (aged 18+) in the UK are entitled to their own Carers Assessment? This an an assessment of a Carer's own needs and is separate to the needs of those they care for. The Carers Assessment aims to identify where greater support can be given to you as a Carer. This may include: information on your caring role; 1:1 support; contingency planning; social activities; support with benefits; referrals to other support services.

If you would like to complete a Carers Assessment or access support with your caring role, please consider reaching out to one of the organisations listed below.
