Tick, tock. What have we become? Tick, tock. We run like clockwork.
Cuckoo! - wooden arms and wooden legs - Cuckoo! - going through the motions.
Is there anything more satisfying than a well-oiled machine?

Another rotation. They are keeping us busy. Here we go again. Did nobody teach us how to dance and sing?

Chu Chi Face is a wild romp of cogs, chaos and cabaret, an inarticulate cry for dress-up, defiance and hope. It asks what we might do if choice wasn't just an illusion, and time truly was our own.

Supported by Manipulate Festival, Vanishing Point & Surge, with funding from Creative Scotland, Chu Chi Face is a new collaboration with theatre-maker Duncan MacLeod and an exciting Scottish creative team. It's a show about defiance, madness and hope and how we might go about imagining new worlds. We'll be sharing some early work-in-progress at Manipulate Festival in February 2026.
